"LOUISVILLE SLUGGER'S" ALL-AMERICAN BASEBALL TEAMS

TUCSON, Ariz. — The Louisville Slugger NCAA Division I All-American baseball teams and National Players of The Year were announced today by Collegiate Baseball newspaper.

The 17-man first team, chosen by performances up to regional playoffs and picked by the staff of Collegiate Baseball newspaper, features 11 conference players or pitchers of the year, including:

• LHP David Price, Vanderbilt (Pitcher of Year Southeastern Conference).
• RHP Bryan Henry, Florida St. (Pitcher of Year Atlantic Coast Conference).
• RHP Preston Guilmet, Arizona (Pitcher of Year Pacific-10 Conference).
• RHP Adam Mills, N.C. Charlotte (Pitcher of Year Atlantic-10 Conference).
• 1B Brett Wallace, Arizona St. (Player of Year Pacific-10 Conference).
• 2B Tony Thomas, Florida St. (Player of Year Atlantic Coast Conference).
• SS Todd Frazier, Rutgers (Player of Year Big East Conference).
• OF Robbie Widlansky, Florida Atlantic (Player of Year Sun Belt Conference).
• OF Kyle Russell, Texas (Player of Year Big 12 Conference).
• 1B Steven Hill, Stephen F. Austin (Player of Year Southland Conference).
• UT Joe Savery, Rice (Player of Year Conference USA).

The first team features six starting pitchers who posted a combined 71-7 record with an ERA of 1.94. David Price of Vanderbilt led all pitchers with 175 strikeouts. The first team relief pitcher was Casey Weathers of Vanderbilt. He pitched in 28 games and registered an 11-2 record with 7 saves.

The offense features power and line drive hitters. The first team belted 166 homers led by Kyle Russell of Texas (27) and Brandon Waring of Wofford (27). The team collected 191 doubles led by Tony Thomas of Florida St. with 32 which also led the nation. Eight first teamers hit 16 or more doubles during the season.

Collegiate Baseball named Price and Thomas as its National Players of The Year. Price was perfect during the regular season with an 11-0 record as he fanned a nation-leading 175 batters with only 29 walks. He also tossed five complete games. Thomas' numbers were equally impressive as he hit .442 on the season with 32 doubles and 30 stolen bases.

This marks the 11th year that Louisville Slugger has sponsored the Division I All-Americans.

The following are the first, second and third team Louisville Slugger All-Americans for 2007.
